In our upcoming September 20th 11:00am webinar, participants will learn about the City Climate Planner Program. Increasing levels of GHG emissions around the globe is a concern for us all. The proper management and reduction of these emissions is a cornerstone for national and local climate planning, which means proper measurement is a must for dedicated professionals. To address this global challenge, Green Business Certification Inc, (GBCI) in partnership with ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), and the World Resources Institute (WRI) have launched the City Climate Planner program. This capacity building program provides education and a rigorous personnel certification program for Urban Greenhouse Gas Inventory Specialists. Guest speakers will review GHG Inventories as a crucial tool for sustainable cities, describing in detail how the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for Cities (GPC) protocol can support city climate action planning. Participants will also inform participants about the Urban Greenhouse Gas Inventory Specialist credential which focuses on building a human resource base necessary to help cities produce technically sound and standardized GHG emissions inventories that could feed into local and national climate action planning. This webinar can be reported for 1 general GBCI CE hour for maintenance of the LEED, SITES, WELL, and Urban Greenhouse Gas Inventory Specialist Credentials.
