Please use the Chat to ask questions (or to call attention to technical problems with the Zoom session) but NOT to make comments or to hold side conversations. Questions posted here may be either to clarify something within the immediate presentation or to substantively probe the issue. Because the agenda is tight, there may not be time for DEEP to convey substantive questions to the presenters during the session itself. Public comments should be presented not through the Chat but verbally during designated periods of the agenda.
can you define “non embedded”? GHG - are there “embedded” costs?
Heather Deese, Dandelion Energy
What is the $/ton cost of carbon is used for non-embedded GHG emissions?
So are these calculations done on an annual basis? Any consideration to more frequent?
Is it fair to say that a dollar of carbon cost - applied via a carbon tax - would add about 1 penny to a gallon of fuel - or a 50 dollar carbon tax would add about 50 cents.
(just trying to ground it in terms I can relate to?)
Bernard: Just did a quick calc to address your question. Every $ of CO2 tax would add about 1.1 cents in cost to a gallon of fuel oil. It would be lower per gallon of propane - about 0.6 cents, though fuel oil has about 50% more energy per gallon, so the difference isn't quite as big per unit of energy provided.
Heather et al.: with regards to the of carbon emission reductions embedded in current electricity prices through RGGI, the best reference is the current auction price of RGGI emission allowances. The RGGI clearing price in the most recent auction in September 2021 was $9.30 per ton.

Can we get contact info for the participants?
Jeff Howard (DEEP)
DEEP is not planning to release contact info for participants.
From now on shouldn't PMI's also be based on the CO2 reductions achieved? This would help move to increased Heat Pumps since during their 18 year life they save for more than 5 times the CO2 emissions. This is just counting operational saving over the live. The leakage of methane would make this savings much larger.
